Clean, extremely beautiful hotel and surroundings just wonderful right at beach and the seaside in Skala, Agistri where the sea is crystal clear. We really love the friendly atmosphere in Aktaion Botique hotel and not to forget theyr’e cute dog Luna and the Parrots Coco and Dodo who are also providing for a family friendly athmosphere. The room unexpectedly was a great size with a balcony that had a side view of the beach. The breakfast had a great variety of things to choose from, eg. eggs cooked 3 ways, pastries, fresh fruit, and all fresh and tasty. On the last day, the island lost power, but they still managed to feed the entire hotel with no fuss. The standout though is the staff, especially Werner, who is so friendly and helpful. Immi was amazing as well, always running around making guests stay comfortable. The lady at the bar was awesome, along with the whole cleaning crew. We only stayed for one night before our flight out of Athens. Good location close to the airport with many good restaurants and bakeries in the area. This is a beautiful island. The sea is warm and inviting. The beaches, although there is some sand, are very stony, and beach shoes are recommended. We went on a boat trip to navigate the island, taking a route that circled the entire island. It was a small boat and we were driving it ourselves. The day was slightly windy, and the sea we didn't realise was quite rough once you moved away from the beach. We only lasted one hour of the four-hour trip booked. It would have been better to have been warned that the sea would be rough, as we would have chosen another day for our trip. There are many boats, including sailing, charter, and private vessels, visiting Poros, making the port very busy. The boats were fascinating to watch. There are numerous excellent tavernas, and they are not expensive. They serve a variety of local dishes, including fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine. The boat transfer from Athens takes only one hour, and the ferry operator is very prompt. I recommend a visit to Poros.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

a lovely quiet little villiabge, hugging the coastline with spectacular sunsets and beaches. Plenty of options for food and refreshments, and some shops for holiday essentials. Easy drive to the end of the island (Only really one road) to beautiful beaches with beach bars and loungers and easy parking. Skala has a jetty catering for the various ferries plus visiting yachts. the beach is great for swimming - soft white sand, with no rocks or weeds, shelving very slowly.Guest review byjasonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed in the very comfortable harbor area of Aegina Town. Just a 40-minute ferry from Athens' Pireaus port. Ancient sites to visit. Lots of harbor restaurants for beverages and dining. A relaxing way to settle in from international travel before our extended tour of Athens and the Peloponnese tour. My father was born here so my 1st cousins live here. I brought my husband and sons here to introduce them. I loved my stay here meeting up with them again and revisiting all the places I’d been to before and seeing how much things had changed. The beach is the longest sandy beach on Aegina which is predominately lovely sand there are some mixed stones and sand at the far but nothing to bad. The water is shallow and mainly calm wit a big sand bar a few meters out I would say very safe for children The sunbed range in quality and price ranging from 20 euros a set with parasol to 12 euros which obviously also is based on location and convenience to the beach bars and taverna's. Rafina îs a nice place to stay if you eat to be close to the airport . We spent 2 nites and hired a car . This means you can drive to Rafina ( an EASY 25 min drive ) and the next day we drove back to the airport to take the tram into Monastraki Athens to go to Plaka etc and back to the airport ( 9Euro each way ) .This way no parking issues in Athens .
