Rome is wonderful. I like to go for about 6-10 days.
Rome is wonderful. I like to go for about 6-10 days. This is ideal for seeing sights, having a few days to wonder around on my own time, and maybe take a day trip! I have many places to recommend! For transportation, walk! But if need be, busses work just fine as long as you leave time for delays, but trains are the best. Recommendations: - Food in Trastevere - Forum and Palatine Hill at Sunset - Trevi in the early morning - Corso Vittorio Emanuele for some fun thrift stores - La Romana for gelato - Shops around the Pantheon are great for unique gifts at fair prices - Passeggiata del Gianicolo above Trastevere gives a beautiful view of the city and fun was to get to Vatican - Scholars Pub for fun night life - Borghese Gardens if you are missing green space - Go into every church you pass - they are all beautiful - Day trip to Florence works great!Guest review byAilishUnited States - 10

The walk from the Diana Home Rome FCO to the restaurants is only 5 min. The shop owners are amazingly friendly and helpful. The restaurants are famous for their fresh seafood, and of course everything Italian. It's safe and beautiful and a tremendously coveted place to be. Ask the host about setting up reservations, or day trip info, she is exceptionally accommodating beyond any other place we visited. I will forever promote this place. I call my "Happy place" It's a 5 star all the way around. clean environment, secure, helpful and caring people, and super great value. Smiles, and love surrounds this place. I wish I could move here...I could market it 100%Guest review byJasonUnited States - 10

I have visited Viterbo a number of times and love walking around the historical centre. I use Viterbo as my base to visit towns and sites nearby as I don't drive, so it is very convenient and well serviced by Cotral bus services to the different places.Guest review byAnneAustralia - 10

Villa d’Este was amazing and had waterfalls to rival Palace of Versailles. The walk through Villa Gregoriana gardens down the side of the hill to the bottom of the waterfalls was a solid hike and not for the feeble. Definitely take a couple of hours to visit Hadrian’s Villa (aka Villa Adriana) which had amazing historical half crumbling palace and ornamental lake.Guest review bySharee F.Australia - 8.0
Frascati is a small, pleasant town with a good range of bars...
Frascati is a small, pleasant town with a good range of bars, restaurants, cafes and gelateria. A taxi from Ciampino airport takes 20-30 minutes and costs €50-60. It is a particularly good place to stay if you want to be near Rome but not actually staying in the city. Eating out is much cheaper and the town is relatively quiet and relaxed. As a bonus, the transport links are excellent. Rome is just 30 minutes or so by train from a small station right in the centre, with trains every hour on weekdays and every two hours on Sundays. And nearby places of interest such as Castel Gandolfo, Ariccia and Velletri, are accessible by regular buses from the main square (Piazza Marconi).Guest review byJonathanUnited Kingdom - 10

During my visit to Gaeta, I was truly impressed by several places in this charming coastal town. I especially loved walking along the seaside promenade and the beautiful avenue of plane trees—it was very relaxing and scenic. The old town with its colorful streets and historic buildings was also a highlight. For a quick bite or a casual meal, there are plenty of great options. I particularly enjoyed the local cafés and restaurants where you can try fresh seafood and traditional Italian dishes. There are also small grocery stores nearby if you prefer to grab something on the go. Getting around Gaeta is quite easy. The town is compact, so most places can be reached on foot, and it’s very pleasant to explore the streets at a leisurely pace. For families with young children, I would highly recommend visiting the beaches, which are clean and safe. A walk along the promenade or a visit to the Spanish Fortress on Monte Orlando is also fun and manageable with kids. The town has a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for families to enjoy both sightseeing and leisure time together.Guest review byЖаннаUkraine - 8.0

We stayed in Pomezia because of the short distance to Rome and FCO airport. There are also a lot of good affordable restaurants in Pomezia. Also, my son and I enjoyed the go-kart racing at the Parco 51 shopping center. There is also an outlet mall and theme park close by that we enjoyed.Guest review byDanielUnited Arab Emirates - 10

It's an amazing city but it has a dreadful problem with crime on its public transport network. Pick pocketing is rife. That said, the public transport is good with all the major "much see" things within easy reach from the Metro. The Leonardo express train is an excellent way of getting from Fuimicino airport into the heart of the city. €14 each way. Try and do a guided food tour. Ours was superb.Guest review byMalcH24Spain
