- From US$131.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 293 reviewsExceptional location, 20 meters from lifts. Away from the pubs and tourists frenzy of Happo but easily within reach if that’s what you’re after. World’s best Onsen facilities, awesome smorgasbord breakfast and dinner. Guest locker facilities are perfect and MYO lunch pizzas with beers is a must. Rooms are older and simple but clean with everything you need. It’s not advertised as a 5 star penthouse establishment it’s a functional, practical, clean, comfortable hotel. Enough English to easily get by but still predominantly and thankfully Japanese. During my 12 day visit we had 4 meters of fresh snow and as I left anther 4 days of 60+cm fresh powder started. Tree runs are absolute world class attracting many away from European/Canadian/USA resorts. Unfortunately this hidden gem won’t remain hidden for much longer!! Move fast!!! See you next year, I’m doing 3 weeks.Guest review byAntonyAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 525 reviewsRingo-Noki is the most beautiful little Lodge, with only around 6 rooms, in Hakuba run by the very lovely couple of Yoshi-San and his wife Kayo. Everything was perfect about this place, the decoration, the service provided by Yoshi and Kayo, the delicious breakfast, the cleaness, the beautiful onsen to use everyday after a full day of activities. When arriving you were directly greeted with tea and the stunning common area. All rooms also have coffee and tea for you to make and use at your convenience. Right next to the lodge is the bus stop for the free shuttle and within walking distance you have several nice and delicious restaurants, cafés and bakery and other shops. Can highly recommend this location.Guest review byAnnaSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 115 reviewsStayed here for 6 nights for a ski holiday and we had to change room half way through as I booked late and they were fully booked. Lovely staff they moved our stuff to the new room which meant we could go out for the day to enjoy skiing. Location isn't in the centre of town which wasn't a problem. There is a shuttle bus to the ski resorts, if you don't have a car. We did have a car which made it really easy. Onsen was lovely after a full day's of skiing. There was a ski rental shop opposite the hotel which was convent. We had breakfast and dinner included one of the waitresses called June was super friendly and very welcoming. Was a joy to see her everyday.Guest review byJessicaHong Kong
- From US$252.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 431 reviewsThe onsen (indoor and outdoor) and sauna were amazing after a whole day of skiing, the room was spacious, breakfast was very well balanced and delicious, and the customer service was good. The hotel driver was such a kind friendly and helpful man and brought us to the slopes that were least crowded in the morning (sorry, I can't remember his Japanese name!). Location was great, especially for taking the bus shuttle to different slopes - bus stop was literally just outside the hotel. Very close to restaurants in the Happo One area and Lawson as well.Guest review byPolinUnited Kingdom
- From US$457.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsWas worried at first about booking a chalet in Hakuba as we were coming by public transportation, but the hotel group's shuttle service and concierge were so helpful and we never felt like we needed our own car. Free pick up and drop off at the bus/train station, to the lifts and ski rental shops, restaurants etc. The location was also close enough to town that we could walk to restaurants at night. The private in-chalet onsen bath was a huge plus.Guest review byRebekahUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 50 reviewsLoved our stay at El Mayo the couple who run to place are both legends. The shuttle bus is so handy and they do their best to take care of all the guests even when we came back from the slopes with injuries, they had handy little medical heating patches which was highly appreciated. They also went out of their way to check on everyone after the earthquake 🙂Guest review byCandiceAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 76 reviewsVery friendly service from front desk and the chef can speak pretty good english. Comfy breakfast and ski in sky out resort, perfect for you to quickly get to the chair lift/gondola without carrying the heavy ski or board gears on the road. The room is very clean with room cleaning, and there’s public onsen perfect after a long day of skiingGuest review byVee JengMalaysia

It’s a city with good weather, not too crowded, surrounded by mountains, and offers plenty of activities. There’s an AEON mall, and food is easy to find. It’s perfect for those who enjoy skiing and snow.Guest review byWicharThailand - 8.0
We stayed near Tsugaike Kogen. It's a nice small town.
We stayed near Tsugaike Kogen. It's a nice small town. The main drawback is that there is very limited affordable (i.e 1000 to 2000 yen per person) dining options and no supermarket. We had to drive down to echoland for dinner.Guest review byEdmundSingapore - 8.0
Great location directly opposite chair lifts and Gondola.
Great location directly opposite chair lifts and Gondola. Easy to ski in/out. Hotel was great. Recently refurbished and well managed . Staff were excellent and friendly and offered great service.Good bar and cafe as part of hotel made the stay more pleasant. Rooms are roomy by Japanese hotel standards but are a little functional as opposed to comfortable. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable.Guest review byAndrew - 10.0
The location was great with great scenery.
The location was great with great scenery. Ten minutes walk through snow trails to Happoone ski lift. Ten minutes walk to village for rentals & restaurants (Ooyokuri restaurant*****)! The staff was excellent and accommodating of late evening arrival. Inside & outside onsens were very good. Breakfast was great with selection & taste. Twelve (7adults, 1teen, 5children) give it a big thumbs up! It was end of season, so shops and restaurants were closed, snow was a bit slushy for me, good for kids. Plus side few people, no congestion or lines.Guest review byIrvingUnited States - 10.0

Great slopes lots of beginners and intermediate runs. Lots of eateries but limited apre ski activities This resort is only accessible via bus and there are queues The restaurants are small and fill up so not a lot of choiceGuest review bystewartAustralia - 10.0

I love this location. you can get everywhere without a car because there are many shuttles, taxis, and buses. the hotel staff will drive you for free at this place. also you can walk to some nearby places if it is not too cold for you. make sure you bring waterproof shoes and cold weather socks and clothes. renting snowboard gear can be cheaper than bringing your own.Guest review byJoshuaUnited States - 10.0
This is a fantastic ski resort. We love Goryu and Iimori.
This is a fantastic ski resort. We love Goryu and Iimori. There are several options for skiers and snowboarders of different abilities. The ski school is excellent. It is not too busy, and there is little to no queue for ski lifts. We are coming back.Guest review byYi MienHong Kong - 10.0
One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!!
One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!! Tsugaike Kogen. Gorgeous nature, awesome slopes, lots of shops nearby and the ski resort's infrastructure is great!! And you can stay at Hotel La Vista, the best place to stay around Tsugaike, right in front of the lifts.Guest review byCyberLolaJapan
