- From US$196.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 991 reviewsWe had a wonderful view of Mount Fuji from our balcony! It was awesome to wake up to. The room was very spacious for two people. We were able to easily open our two suitcases without stepping over one another. We loved the yukatas that were provided for us. It was fun to dress up and they were very comfortable. You could even wear them around the hotel, including dinner. As for dinner, we opted to dine in at the hotel on both nights we were there, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Don't forget to make reservations. We ordered the grilled beef and tempura. Definitely get the Mount Fuji float drink! The food service was impeccable, as well as the front desk staff. Always so polite and helpful! There's a shuttle bus from the hotel to the nearby station and vice versa - a really short jaunt. Very convenient service! There was also laundry service that we used. Be prepared to have coins with you. We brought our own laundry sheets, but you could also purchase detergent on the premise. On the premise, you'll also find vending machines and a charming souvenir shop. Around the hotel, there are restaurants, jogging paths, and nature trails that you can explore. There's even a nearby supermarket and shopping center with a great view of Mount Fuji! Overall, we had an excellent 2-night stay and would whole heartedly recommend Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko!Guest review byThuong MaiFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,057 reviewsWe stayed 1 night in a japanese room with a view of Mt Fuji. It did not disappoint! We had a great view of Mt Fuji and appreciated the spacious and clean tatami room. Futon was very comfortable. The hotel was a 15minute walk or 5 minute local bus from fuji-kawaguchiko station. When checking out of the hotel, we used their shuttle service to get back to the station. We decided to eat dinner there for ease - we were pleasantly surprised by the extensive tasty buffet. Breakfast was also a great buffet style with plenty of choice. We were very happy with the yukata in different sizes and amenities.Guest review byVeenyNew Zealand
- From US$128.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 117 reviewsWe arrived on a very rainy day and were pleasantly surprised the next day when Mt Fuji showed itself in its full glory right from the window of our room. The hotel is a little outdated, but still had all the amenities and comforts. Breakfast was also very good. The location and the resort style cafes/restaurants were also a very pleasant surprise. Unfortunately we only stayed the night, wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel offers free shuttle from the train station, that was a bonus. Highly recommend people stay here and explore the area.Guest review byOliveraAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 467 reviewsI was going to Kawaguchiko with my husband for 2 night stays, I would like to say the place was SUPERB with nice view (can view Mt Fuji from bathroom however I didn’t manage to see because of weather condition). It was a cozy cottage provided with bicycle from the owner :) Slightly distance from Kawaguchiko station, but very near to Oishi Park and Kawaguchi Asama Shrine. Definitely will come back again if I’m visiting Kawaguchiko next time :)) Cleanliness : 5/5 Comfort and Amenities: 5/5Guest review byBeatriceMalaysia
- From US$262.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,691 reviewsWe absolutely loved our stay at Kawaguchiko Country Cottage Ban! The cottage was cozy and comfortable, with a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji right from our terrace. We enjoyed the most amazing BBQ dinner, beautifully arranged like bento boxes — delicious and so refined. The breakfast soup was comforting and healing, truly the best we’ve ever had. A perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of the area!Guest review byAntoniyaBulgaria

I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 8.0
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen.
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen. The fare is ¥5900 one way and travel time is nearly an hour. I stayed at Toyoko Inn which is 150 meters from the Shin Fuji station. There are lots of car rentals in the area but I was not able to get one as they only accept advance booking from their website. It took me 2 hours getting to and from the foot of Mt. Fuji, by bus and a 15 minute walk in the village to reach my destinations. Roads are quite narrow but they are common in Japan. Like most countryside places in Japan, Fuji is relatively clean, rich in nature, and lots of places to explore. My advice if you want to visit Fuji: 1. Travel by Shinkansen going to and from Fuji. 2. Rent a car so you can visit most of the attractions in and around Mt. Fuji. 3. Spend at leat 3-4 days in the area. 4. Bring cash with you always as most establishments are cash based. 5. Download Papago app on your phone so you can translate Japanese images, signs, etc if you're having difficulty understanding the language. That's it and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji.Guest review byMauro Jr - 10.0
Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical.
Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical. Gotemba is one of the most significant epicenters for adventure and sightseeing in all of Japan. It is of course an exceptional gateway to hiking and adventuring on Mount Fuji using the Gotemba, Subashiri and Fujinomiya 5th Station traiheads. Hakone-Yumoto onsens/spas and Lake Ashi are also right in the area. Free shuttle buses offer a 20 minute ride straight to the Famous Gotemba Outlets if shopping for 15 hours is what you are in the mood for. Don't forget Odawara Castle just down the way or Fuji-Q and the Fuji Speedway just up the way, to name a few. Gotemba ROCKS! Mount Fuji and the Osunabashiri descending trail are really the #1 world class attraction among many. Furthermore, all the special local people who support all the vast Gotemba opportunities are the best and truly loved.Guest review byBrettUnited States - 10.0

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 10.0

Everything about Fujikawaguchiko is just perfect. Nice town, beautiful view of Mt Fuji. For an outdoor enthusiast, this town is perfect. We came to Gotemba because we wanted a base from which to climb Fuji and the hotels offered an onsen which was far more reasonable that some of the other hotels in area. There is a bus that runs from the train station to the 5th station where you can start your climb - just make sure you exit the station on the right side! (left as you come up the stairs from the trains) Most useful if you've got a car otherwise I think I'd have stayed elsewhereGuest review byJohnstonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices. One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hrGuest review byLiCanada
