- From US$1,190.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 184 reviewsFrom end to end, our stay at Anantara Dhigu was smooth, relaxing and beautiful. Firstly, the resort staff is there for you from arrival until the check-in at the airline desk. I didn’t see many other resort providing this level of service to the other tourists lining up at the airport. You are greeted on arrival and the boat trip to the resort is only a little bit over half an hour, making it very convenient after traveling long haul. We stayed in an over water sunset villa and it was simply stunning. Some have hammock nets over the water and some have pools, both options looked lovely depending on your personal preference/need. The villa is clean and spacious, and is decorated tastefully. It feels very private and the view was beautiful. We opted for the half board option and that suited us well. We mostly ate at Fushi Cafe with the exception of one lunch at Aqua and one dinner at Baan Huraa but those just didn’t live up to the exceptional food at Fushi Cafe. There was a lot of choice as well as variation from day to day. The resort itself is very well designed and there is plenty of exploring to do, both on land and in water. As it sits in a lagoon, it also provides for shelter from wind on one side even on the windier days. Our villa for example tended to get a lot of wind but when dining at Fushi Cafe on the other side of the island, it was very peaceful. It is also easy to wade in the water to snorkel island and snorkel in the coral reef there. There is a pontoon constantly operating between Dhigu and Veli making it very easy to go to the other island. Compared to the other resorts I think this location within the lagoon and spanning over several islands makes it so interesting and unique. There are so many things I could mention but these are what were really memorable and noteworthy, as well as the staff of course who are very polite and attentive. I would definitely visit again.Guest review byEllaSwitzerland
- From US$583.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 391 reviews1. Location. It is natural island with lush greenery and a home reef with all the Indian Ocean inhabitants in place. The beautiful beach is just steps from the door of your room. Short trip from the airport by boat. 2. The management performs a good job there, everything is well maintained and well organized, the staff knows what to do and does their work in right manner. E.g. after the wind or rain it was a lot of leaves and other parts of vegetation on the ground. And every time it was cleared in very effective manner all over the island. 3. Special thanks to our waiter Raju, who was very clever and attentive in his service. Also the cleaner, Ali was making our room impeccably clean every morning despite all the sand brought in during the previous day. 4. We have two birthday celebrations during our week there and we ordered a dinner on the beach for each of them. Again, everything was perfect and we enjoyed every moment there.Guest review byIgorBelarus
- From US$1,416.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 667 reviewsWe spent 12 beautiful days in Villa Resort in January 2024 and it was one of the nicest holidays ever. The accommodation in completely renovated and newly furnitured Lagoon Beach Villa (nr. 115) was very comfortable, with amazing services of housekeeping team (namely Mr. Ahunaf) with excellent daily morning and evening cleaning and minibar replenishment. The food in the restaurant was also excellent with many different tastes every day (including daily fish/sea foods). There is absolutely nothing to complain about chefs and the service, who were really great. The waiter, Mr. Aswar, who took care about us, is having amazing memory of the guests' habits and their tastes.... we were just sitting at the table and the fresh juice was already on its way. We also used the services of the diving centre with really friendly and helpful crew. Samuel was guiding all dives safely and locations were nicely chosen.Guest review byFilipCzech Republic

I only stayed overnight in Male and, in general, it was enough. Simply passing though to get my flight home. As expected the city is noisy, busy and hectic. Wow the contrast from the laid-back, easygoing atol where I was based for the holiday. However, I still quite enjoyed it. The guy from the diving company arranged a tour guide for me whose policy was that I pay him what I thought his time was worth. I got to experience the traffic from a scooter (quite scary to begin with) was taken to the market and given lots of free samples of local foods to try and had visits to all the important sites in three brilliant hours. He also introduced me to a wonderful restaurant - The Seagull Cafe- where I visited another twice before leaving the food and the coffee were so good.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

One of the most beautiful places in the world. Wherever you look, you'll find postcard worthy landscape. The ocean was very clean, ideal for snorkling and apparently it was a good spot for surfing as well. All in all, a must see.Guest review byÁkosHungary - 10.0

Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced. One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. You can book trips easily, there’s stuff to do, and it doesn’t feel restrictive.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there. Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!Guest review byInaNorway - 10.0

The people that work there in the island are very genuine and polite and helpful, always smiling. They make your time there very pleasant. Don’t forget to tip them. I absolutely would return!
I absolutely would return! After the fact I was told this was a Russian resort but we interacted with a variety of guests during our visit. Our neighbors were guests 20 years ago and returned with two children. They were having an absolute ball. I loved the swim up bar at the pool - and the fact it was at the opposite end (along with a divider) from the children's area. Super attentive and friendly staff, great meals, I didn't tire of the options at the buffet. The a la carte restaurant was lovely too. We did the all inclusive and it was definitely worth it. Great chill vibe and overall a fun place to relax and play.Guest review byHollie - 10.0
We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!Guest review byClannyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.Guest review byMaureenCanada - 10.0
I enjoyed pretty much everything.
I enjoyed pretty much everything. It was a super place to go for a one week holiday. You're a captivated audience on such a small island but there was more than enough to keep you occupied for the week. The food was excellent, the staff extremely supportive and I think that RIU have a near perfect arrangement for the 'all inclusive' experience.Guest review byStuartUnited Kingdom
