- From US$156.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 624 reviewsSolitaire is a space with a very unique energy. We loved stepping into a film and having the feeling of going back in time. Our room was excellent, the bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. The dining room was very welcoming, the food is prepared with great care and the portions are generous! Breakfast is buffet and very tasty too. The staff is wonderful, this was our first night after arriving in Namibia and feeling at home in such a remote place is priceless. They were always smiling and asking if everything was ok and seemed genuinely concerned about our well-being. A special thank you to Smiley, a promising young boy, with a wide smile capable of enchanting us with his way of talking. Thank you all ❤️ Oh and please try the apple pie from the bakery next door, it is as famous as it is delicious! :)Guest review byMario and CatiaPortugal
- From US$383.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 294 reviewsEverything!! I will recommend and come back definitely. The room with a view to the waterhole is a dream come true. All the room is a dream, the bed is really comfortable and the bathroom is beautiful. The staff is amazing, the chef is an incredible human being and the food was absolutely delicious and well served. The common facilities such as the pool and the dinner and breakfast spaces are charming and beautiful, well maintained and really clean. For horse riding at sunset was unforgettable and we could see oryx very close to us. I will never forget this amazing lodge.Guest review byMartaPortugal
- From US$568.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 151 reviewsWoow, à beautiful very modern Lodge in the desert. A perfect bungalow, very modern and luxurious. The breakfast and Dinner buffet was okay, but for a 5* Lodge somewhat disappointing. The staff was not really friendly like we experienced it at other Lodge. Maybe a touch too modern in the middle of the desert? However, the sundowner drive was very interesting and we had a very good guide who explained everything about the nature and the region.Guest review byJanineSwitzerland
- From US$264.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 210 reviewsThe lodge is strategically located, less than 1h drive from Sessriem, on the outskirt of a mountain in a very nice position. The rooms are modern, super clean and spacious, sorrounded by a green garden with many trees. The common areas are equally well equipped, clean and well maintained. The breakfast provides a large number of choices for food. The value for money of the dinner is extremely advantagious.Guest review byIgorItaly
- From US$398.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 332 reviewsThe location was unbelievable. The staff especially Shili was so attentive, he even made sure we had a map for our Hot Air Balloon trip so we wouldn’t get lost. Some people took the Google map way and ended at the wrong location. The other staff were also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinners were so scrumptious and the staff made sure to check back at each course.Guest review byJoanne BarkerAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 90 reviewsVery nice and quiet lodge in the middle of the desert, yet not that far away from the main road and Sossusvlei/Deadvlei that it was a pain to get there. The lodge has a lovely staff that took care of us in an excellent way. Also the day tour they provide is very much worth it. They provide spacious, clean lodges with warm showers. Also the food was great.Guest review byJasperNetherlands

What a beautiful place my goodness.
What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 8.0

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.Guest review byFionaZimbabwe - 10.0

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance...
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0
