- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 347 reviewsThe cabin was in a truly stunning location, with an unobstructed view of the fjord and northern lights in the evening. It was one of the most peaceful places we have stayed, with the sounds of falling snow or the water lapping at the edge of the fjord to put you to sleep. We also visited the Distillery at the top of the hill, which offered fantastic views of the surrounding area , a wonderful distillery tour, and amazing whiskey. We were able to follow the directions without issue, and the road surface in winter was kept clear of deep snow. Our AWD vehicle with studded winter tyres had no issue making the journey from Lyngseidet. Contactless check-in was hassle free, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. The cabin, although compact, had enough space for the two of us, the comfortable couch in the lounge was where we spent most of our time watching the Northern Lights. The kitchen was sufficiently furnished for us to cook decent meals without too much trouble (breakfast and dinners), although the extraction hood was a little troublesome at times. The bathroom was good, with excellent ventilation and no issues with water pressure or temperature. The cabin itself had HRV, Air Conditioning, and heated floors, which meant even whilst it was -20°C outside with the wind blowing, we could stay toasty warm with little effort. The HRV was great as we could run this whilst cooking to keep the place fresh. Cleanliness was 9/10 with surfaces and cupboards free of dust, however the cutlery wasn't in the cleanest state when we arrived (likely due to the previous guests). Our preference is for a firm bed, and although the bed was slightly on the softer side, was able to meet our expectations. Our request for extra pillows was met with no issues. The blackout curtains and quiet room also meant we slept soundly during our stay. WiFi did the job well, considering the rural setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will be recommending this spot to others!Guest review byKirkNew Zealand
- From US$797.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 37 reviews- The vibe of the lodge was perfect. When we arrived we were told the lodge was supposed to feel like a home away from home and it was exactly that. Cosy and comfortable. We felt very relaxed but at the same time the staff's attention to detail and hospitality was amazing. We loved chilling in the lounge area where the fire was always on, chilled music playing and the perfect ambience. - The staff, in particular Oliver, Alton and Romero made our stay incredible. The staff were very attentive, knowledgable, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. - The food was amazing. 5* quality food every evening. The chef checked regularly if we liked the food and came to the table to chat with us each evening about the food. We loved everything but for example for other guests he went out of his way to make something that more suited their tastes. - The activities. We did husky sledding, whale watching and the northern lights tour. They were all excellent and well organised. We didn't get to see the northern lights on our tour due to heavy cloud coverage but the tour guide still went out of his way to try and make the excursion enjoyable. Luckily we had seen the northern lights the previous night sat in the hot tub. They have a full equipment room with everything you need for the excursions including snow suits, snow boots, hats, gloves etc. They will make sure you are well equipped for whatever activity you have booked. - Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. I would 100% book this trip again and would recommend this lodge to everyone.Guest review byEmmaUnited Kingdom
- From US$210.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 105 reviewsThe bathroom is spaceous. Everything was very nice, clean, tidy. We had a coffee/cappuchino...hot water machine in the corridor and tea free of charge 24/7. Very good location, 150m from bus, ferry, shops. If you like fishing or chasing the Northern Aurora Borealis, you can find easily dark places to watch by walking to the nearest pier and you have good view to the entire fjord and the mountains, or if you like to walk around 15-20min you can climb up the road to Lyngen, at the top of the hill and to find there nice, dark places to watch the Auroras. Nice, peaceful place where I felt very relaxed and safe.Guest review byDilyanaUnited Kingdom

We came for nature discovery and were not disappointed.
We came for nature discovery and were not disappointed. Scenery is wonderful. Meteo was not cooperative, so the observation of the northern lights was poor. Going to the shore below the castle (an excellent location for stays) provides a good observation and photographic place for aurora. There is easily accessible trails to explore the surrounding nature. Don't forget your snowshoes in winter, absolutely necessary (relying on crampons is not enough).Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The area's main attraction is a stunningly blue glacier lake at the foot of a mountain - Blåvatnet. The hike is about 8 km long and you should reserve all day for it, because it is rather demanding. Other than that, you have to love watching the fjord and its wildlife, otherwise you might run out of things to do rather quickly. We had one tiny store about 500 m from our accommodation, which sells all the basic things, plus locally caught shrimp! As far as we know, there were no other stores, cafes or restaurants in the area.Guest review byHätinenFinland - 10.0
Koppangen is truly the end of the road and the beginning of...
Koppangen is truly the end of the road and the beginning of wilderness. Beautiful, wide open skies, breathtaking views of the Lyngen Alps. So very quiet. We ate in Alf's dining room each night, with stunning views, and solid home cooking. Getting around Koppangen is not easy. It is 17 km to the nearest little town with gas and a grocery store. You are a victim of the weather, as wind, snow, or avalanche can impact road passing or ferry crossings. As long as you know these things, you won't be disappointed. It's a stunning corner of the world and a great privilege to be able to experience it.Guest review byPhillyGirlAbroadUnited States - 10.0
I went for New year celebration, just for couple of days.
I went for New year celebration, just for couple of days. It was very peaceful, quiet and safe place - it was exactly what I needed as I was very stressed from living in busy London, UK. I managed to catch good, decent size cod and other fish just from the piers near the Eurospar shop. The view to the fjord is beautiful and I climbed up the road to the hill to Lynden (15min) to watch there beautiful Northern lights (the Aurora Borealis) in some of the dark spots behind those houses where the pine-trees area starts. There is also a small cycling path at the front part of Lyngen, on the hill up, like a "small terrace" which is dark and provides you with perfect view over the fjiords, most of the night sky...It was amazing as I had very good luck to watch them for 2h30min almost non-stop. My partner and I had very good luck with clear sky at that night. I strongly reccomend: the best hours to watch it are usually 19:00pm- 22:30pm.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
We had a great stay.
We had a great stay. The host answered questions quickly before we arrived. A kitchen with everything you needed and a little more. The beds were great, and the view was superb. If we go back to Lyngen, we will book this again.Guest review byMathiasSweden - 10.0
Lyngseidet is a great location to stay.
Lyngseidet is a great location to stay. It's a quiet town but its central location allows it to be a base for hiking trips. Lake Blaisvatnet and Steindalsbreen are just about 30 minutes away. Lyngenstrappa is at the town itself and 20mins away is a beautiful village of Koppangan. You can also view Aurora too.Guest review byYklee58Malaysia - 10.0

This property was the most amazing find in a remote location, gorgeous surrounding, incredibly friendly and helpful host. Ask for local seafood - you won't be disappointed. Awesome place to see the Aurora Borealis.Guest review byMonikaUnited States
