Super clean, super comfortable beds, great space, beautiful shower, loved the basin, lovely and warm with the heat pump, but the little additional bits like the spray oil and box of tissues made it. Seeing the gardens in the morning was just the icing on the cake.

The location and facilities met our expectations, such that everything was provided to allow us to self cater. Centrally located with the shops and supermarket all within an easy walk. I would recommend people visiting the Takaka area to stay at this motel.

AustraliaBeautiful and immaculate cottage in a beautiful out of the way part of NZ in the little village of Collingwood. The cottage is brand new, decked out with all you need. The beds were extremely comfortable. Great kitchen and combined dining and living area, with smart TV. HiThe landscaping around the cottage is beautifully done. The hosts were very welcoming and completely non-intrusive. Privacy was no problem at all

New ZealandThe location offered spectacular views of an inlet of Golden Bay from a hill site. You could see out to Farewell Spit. A pair of binoculars were provided. The house had a lovely outdoor deck to sit on and take in the views. The house was modern, tidy and clean. The beds were comfortable. There were blankets should you require them and plenty of towels. The kitchen had a marvellous 5 hob gas and oven was large. Plenty of kitchen equipment made preparing and cooking a dream. The house had a fire.

The cabins were perfect with everything you'd need to accommodate your stay. I discovered the Yurt while exploring the grounds as per recommendation and fell in love and I immediately ran back to get my husband from 1 of our 2 booked cabins for the night and asked Steve if we could change accommodations...without hesitation he happily obliged and let us keep our original cabin booking and added the Yurt to our package. We originally booked in for 3 adults and last minute turned up with an extra 2 bodies and 5 big dogs...again without hesitation he welcomed us with open arms and a way chill vibe The activities on offer with yoga and massage and even a concert in the hall on Saturday night provided by the locals (for a small entry fee). the pizza oven vibe the running creek through the property and the grounds itself are stunning with a native bush vibe and a great view of the ocean. Absolutely gorgeous beaches within walking distance and also a short scenic coast road drive picture perfect. We will 100% be back soon Ps. After 8pm the spa is for guests only so super quiet, I had the whole spa to myself most of the evening! The queen room had a rustic feel but also super luxurious and comfortable. Everything very clean. The cats are delightful too, super affectionate and love attention. This is probably my favourite place I’ve ever stayed, I came from being on the road in a small van for a while and a night here was just a luxurious break from van life. Takaka is a fantastic location that gives good access to beaches all around the area, and the lovely Pupu Springs and Farwell Spit. The people in the town were lovely and friendly. We had the best vegetarian burgers, even better than our Ferg burgers from Queenstown! We all felt so safe and just enjoyed our time there. We love this beach - especially in winter!
We love this beach - especially in winter! It is also very close to some special places - Tata and Ligar Beaches, the Wainui Falls, the Grove Reserve and more - always something new to discover. Collingwood and out lying areas have some spectacular...
Collingwood and out lying areas have some spectacular scenery with very unique environments not found in other places of the world. If you want to learn some history about early NZ, this little place has bits of information signposted everywhere so forget about guessing who found the place or what kept the inhabitants there. Even the journey there from Nelson was interesting with multiple towns and side trips like Mapua, the entrance to the Abel Tasman Track, Kaiteriteri Beach, Pohara and Waipupu Springs walk which was wonderful, just to mention a couple of things we did.Guest review byChristine - 8.0

Great spot near Takaka but in a natural setting. Comfortable studio unit with kitchen, dining lounge & bed all open plan. Well fitted out for a couple wanting a rustic retreat, The hosts Fiona and Frederick were superb . They presented the place in pristine condition and were very responsive when needed. We loved the north end of the beach, tata. Lovely and sheltered, and very safe for kids to swim or play on rocks. Very friendly golden bay kayak company, to hire kayaks for a morning. There is great scenery to be seen and some good walks nearby. Wharariki Beach is a favourite. Very dramatic rock formations, sea, sand dunes and seals. The Langford store is worth going to. Nice women with lovely homemade things to eat, drink and buy. Good collectables if that's what you like. Quirky and full of character. It is handy to longer and very scenic walks like Abel Tasman and Heaphy. I think some increased range of eating for vegetarians would be good. The Court House Cafe is particularly good for daytime food and coffee. The general store has most of what you need at reasonable prices. The style of the house fits in perfect with its surroundings and area! You get a very relaxing and easy stay being able to connect with nature and the views all around you. The heated outside shower was amazing, compost toilet was very clean and modern considering, all in all the perfect blend of modern and easy to use things without looking out of place for it’s environment.Guest review byneishaNew Zealand
