- From US$175.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 306 reviewsMy friend and I stayed in the very cozy cabin “Friggan”,. Which meant we had our own bathroom / toilet and private small terras. The excellent breakfast buffet was served in the dining / living area of the main building. Our host showed us the guest rooms upstairs( 5 if I’m not mistaken ): they look cozy and comfortable as well. Guests staying there share 2 bathrooms. This is a perfect B&B setup. This is a great place and the central location makes it easy to wander around town. During summer when you can enjoy the decent size terras it will be an even more pleasant place to stay. I can also highly recommend a visit to the Sandhamn Värdshus for a drink, lunch or dinner. Good food, friendly staff in an “good old cozy pub setting”. And very well done both Missions Huset and Sandhamn Värdshus, they are open all year round. Last but not least, our host was the most friendly, professional lady you can wish for. Fabulous!!Guest review byChristineAustralia
- From US$245.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 27 reviewsThe cottage might not be for everyone since it isn’t a 5 star hotel, but it is the most perfect cozy little cottage, great for a couple or a solo retreat. The location is pure bliss. We went for several nights in the freezing winter so carried all our own food and supplies. The wood burning stove kept us very warm and we spent our time reading books and enjoying the gorgeous scenery. Sanna was highly responsive to and patient with our many inquiries before and during our stay.Guest review byChristieUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsThe included breakfast was amazing - eggs, pancakes, mini croissants, fruit, cheese, bread, smoothies, fruit juices, cereal choices. The outdoor activities cost a bit extra but made the visit so great for our kids (10 & 13). We did mini golf, soccer golf, the forest obstacle course, and alpaca feeding. The staff were all super friendly and the facilities were beautiful inside and out. There is also an ice cream shop and lots of gourmet candy for sale.Guest review bySaraUnited States
- From US$224.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 382 reviewsStunning location, convenient to the city but felt really disconnected. Great spa experience, the spa is big enough to allow you to fully relax in different areas. Sauna by the lake with view! Good walking trails from hotel. Small but good gym. Large choices for breakfast . Dinner also excellent. Staff very friendly and efficient.Guest review byRichelleSwitzerland

We really enjoyed our stay here.Guest review bySachaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 45 reviewswe had rented a Cottage near the mainhouse. Very quiet, only short walking distance to the restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice walkways on the island and a small beach. Easy to spend a couple of relaxing days. Ferries go to the neighbouring Islands regularly, shopping only possible in Gräddö.Guest review byDirkGermany

Very close to Stockholm, yet quite far away to enjoy the countryside’s beautifully green and blue colors with clear air and gorgeous food. - Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 225 reviewsA quiet location, but accessible by bus or ferry from Stockholm. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We went on their free fortress tour, and they gave us a lift to the ferry. There are lots of lovely places to admire the views, including the cruise ships going by.Guest review byBrigetteHong Kong
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsEasy access to the house (with the code) which also means that you can arrive late. Room has bedsheets and a towel for you to use. Also fridge and sink. Kitchen looked big, unfortunately I didn’t have time to use it. We loved swimming in the sea.
We loved swimming in the sea. A bit cold (19C) doesn't matter as you can warm up in the the lovely saunas and the warm pool. It's got an awesome Stockholm archipelago feeling and view, and even a family of merganser birds (skrake). We loved the gym and the restaurant was nice. Great breakfast too!Guest review byHultmanSweden - 8.0

Cute little cottage with perfect amount of space for a family of four to stay for a weekend. Well stocked kitchen, great outdoor space for playing. Big drawback was lack of blackout blinds on the windows so putting kids to bed before the sun went down (which is pretty late in summer) was difficult.Guest review byAubrey - 10.0

Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so visiting other islands via ferry is easy. Vaxholm itself is very interesting and worth at least a couple days. If you plan on island hopping (day trips from Vaxholm), then figure an additional day per island. If you don't have time to day trip, then definitely take a boat tour to just get a feel for this gorgeous archipelago. It's stunning.Guest review byDeniseFrance - 10.0
This was an absolutely beautiful place.
This was an absolutely beautiful place. Great value for money, insanely good food? Idk I wasn't expecting swedish food to be so good, the nightly barbecue was absolutely a highlight. Also kayaking, ice cream, hiking drinks, this place has everything.Guest review byKatieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sahdhamn is a beautiful island at the edge of the archipelago, so please note it can get a bit windy since there are very few islands protecting it from the sea. There are trails criss-crossing the island, so it’s easy to hike around and since it’s not very big there is no risk for getting lost. During the winter most restaurants and shops are closed, but Sandhamn Seglarhotell is open and they have delicious food. The island is transformed during the summer months with lots of people, party and a much wider range of restaurants to choose from. So, depending on what you are after, choose the season to visit Sandhamn carefully. ;-)Guest review bySandraSweden - 10.0

Varmdo is a district of 10 000 islands with few towns or villages to wander around or give a sense of place and culture. It has beautiful scenery, lakes, inlets, beaches, woods and farms which made it ideal for hiking and it would have been great for cycling as well as none of the inclines were too steep or too long. There are some beautiful nature reserves such as Bjorno and Sandarna which make the amazing bistro Bjorkvik a good place to pop in for food and drink. The boat services are generally good, but it's not easy to locate information about what is running and when - even Google struggled to find where the information was hidden and repeatedly gave best guesses! If you want to explore quaint villages, pop into shops, trip over a cute cafe for a snack or engage with locals, then Varmdo is not the place for you. If you want to explore nature, hardly see a soul, wild swim, trek through forests past ancient burial mounds and occasionally see people fishing or sailing in the lakes, then add the district to your plans.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to the more remote parts of the archipelago, as many of the ferries from Stockholm stop here before fanning out into the islands. There is a small range of cafes and restaurants, and the Thai Restaurant is particulalry good value and very friendly. The backstreets are well worth an explore, and it is only a short walk south over the bridge to the nature reserve. When the weather is good, it is simply stunning. We loved the Castle, too.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Loved Saltsjobaden. Faurly small, Calm, peaceful. We had several different walks around the Peninsula areas. Very scenic. Liked that we found 3 good places to eat and drink, the Grand Hotel, the Var Gard Hiotel and Holmens bar bistro on the harbour Would like to come back and stay a few days longer forvacrelaxjng break.Guest review byTravel 100United Kingdom - 10.0
