The staff was super nice and efficient, taking care of guests needs. Food in the restaurant was good, including the New Year buffet, good value for money. Breakfast had an ample choice of savory Western and Asian options and fruit (adding a couple of sweets would be great). The beach was clean and beautiful with an ample swimming area cordoned off so boats could not approach. We were lucky to get villas looking right out at the beautiful beach. We were less then a 5 minute walk to Tub Tim beach which has soft white sand and clear water for swimming not to mention an amazing restaurant. The rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. No working ATMs can be a problem if you don't have scan and pay. I don't like carrying that much cash. Other than that, its a perfect quiet get away. Everything i needed was in walking distance. There are many good restaurants and places to sit on the beach at night. But is not a party island. You don't have to worry about loud music late into the night.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years.
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years. It now feels much more like a tourist hot spot than a quiet island escape… and it’s still developing. You can still find only moderately-populated powder white beaches however, with some of the best local on-beach restaurants anywhere in the country. And it’s only 50B for a shaded deckchair all day. In terms of negatives it can become overpopulated on weekends, and in the high season, and can be very scruffy in places when you go in land.
