From the searing depths of Death Valley to the snow-capped peaks of the Lake Tahoe mountains, California is a wonderful US state that sums up the American Dream. Nowhere is this more evident than Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood and many stars who grace its red carpets.

In the south-west, Anaheim has a great range of Californian hotels near Disneyland where the magic of the movies comes to life. Sun-drenched San Diego, located close to the Mexican border in the state's south-western tip, is a popular spring break destination as is Palm Springs in a valley surrounded by rugged mountains.

In the well-known wine region of the Napa Valley the vineyards produce some fantastic wines, while Monterey is best known for its spicy cheese and the beautiful coastline that becomes the Big Sur coastal drive.     Where do I start. Firstly I cannot write this review without giving a huge shout out to Sandra who is one of the lovely staff at Surf and Sand Resort - she made our trip extra special and sent some wine and cheese up to our room and also booked Nobu for us which was incredible as it was impossible to get a booking otherwise. As soon as we walked in I felt like a celebrity. We were greeted with amazing staff on the front desk, they upgraded our room with a small fee which was so worth it. Without even going into the Hotel itself the staff make it the most amazing experience. This Hotel is the only one on Laguna beach which is on the sea front, you can hear the waves crashing - our room was right on the water. The food in the Hotel was impeccable, you seriously need to try the breakfast burrito & French toast - OMG! On our first night we went for dinner and the food and cocktails were insane! I would seriously go back every year to this Hotel if I could. Excited to visit again! It is always fully booked so we were so lucky to have got a room! The best Hotel I have visited for sure! also the pool was incredible !

    There is a lot to do in LA - if somebody says 2 days are enough, don't trust them. You want to visit Warner Bros, take a walk on elegant streets, see Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, another day see the Hollywood Blvd and Sunset - there you may grab a drink and spot some celebrities, another day you take a trip to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. How about going to El Matador and Malibu? Maybe you want to see the perfect views? Try running in Runyon - have some activities there, nice place to feel the California Vibe. We spent there 5 days - I would like to visit LA again in future

    I went to San Francisco when I was 16 years old and was really scared by it and hated it. After talking to many many people over the years who told me it was a fantastic fantastic city. I thought I'd go back now. I'm a little older and see what it was like and I must say I'm not too sure what my brain was thinking about when I was younger because I found everyone was indeed correct. The city is fantastic so many cool areas to go and visit from pier 39 to the hippie area. Golden Gate Park is fantastic too. I enjoyed the food and the entertainment in short if someone asked me to move there, I would leave my wife and my cat and go there immediately.

    I stayed overnight to catch a show at the Old Globe in Balboa Park. Loved the theater. The park is AMAZING. Restaurants in the area were terrific. The next morning walked the Seven Bridges Trail and saw a lot of San Diego around the park. It was long (over 5 miles) but educational. Looking forward to coming back again sometime.

    The city was clean and nice. We felt safe walking late at night. There were some mental heath homeless people at night. But durning the day we did not see anyone sketchy. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. We has a car and were able to see other areas that were not as well kept as Anaheim. It would have been nice to have more time to see more of the area.

    Sacramento is my home town. Been here 45 years. It's nice but has its run down areas. It definitely could use better employees for the businesses around my area.. customer service sucks in most places therefore I refuse to even go to those places... And they're mostly family owned and family ran and trying to apply for work sucks. I get turned down most places I've applied too. Sacramento is not what it used to be and it's sad

    I liked the area of the property as its right next to the on and off ramp for the Hwy. Its right next to the Denny's, well as a Walmart super center! Theres also Wendys, and Starbucks across the street! Its far enough from the inner city were there tends to be a lot of riff raff as well low scale crime, as well as drugs. I felt at peace, and you can tell that the management puts a lot towards 2training her staff! Real good hard-working staff as well as very courteous and attentive to the guests needs! I figured that there would be a lot of noise and everything else that's associated with hotels that are more cost effective.

    Unfortunately most museums and the botanical gardens were...

    Unfortunately most museums and the botanical gardens were closed when we were there, we arrived Monday and left Thursday, it seems to be a city that mostly works Thursday to Sunday. The hotel was walking distance from the city center, easy to walk around, beautiful city, we didn't have enough time to do the hikes in the canyons, I would love to go back for that.

    Loved the September weather.

    Loved the September weather. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Just short walk to the golf course and the beach. We stayed at Basecamp and loved it. Great food and entertainment! Just walked out if our room to enjoy live music. It was perfect. Parking can be a little tricky but we were in walking distance of everything. We were there for a wedding. Rehearsal dinner was at Tipsy Putt. Fun place with miniature golf and drinks.
