Beautiful reserve with wildlife and stunning scenery.
Beautiful reserve with wildlife and stunning scenery. Some nice walks and routes for mountain biking. Beaches are great to look at but didn’t look safe for swimming. Range of accommodation options and an excellent restaurant.Guest review byTheophilusUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The indoor market is a must visit.
The indoor market is a must visit. The only general dealer in Witsand has a wide variety of products in stock at only a little bit more expensive than the big supermarkets. We felt very safe during our stay and the ladies and children could walk everywhere without feeling unsafe. Remember to check on the restaurant specials at the beach and don't forget the excellent roosterkoek at the indoor market.Guest review byKoosSouth Africa - 8.0
It's an absolute beaut to stay on the River.
It's an absolute beaut to stay on the River. Indoor braai and the walks down to the riverside was awesome. Ample space. The Double Bunks make up for more space for more people which is great. The cupboards was dirty And the fridge had a smell All in all very nice stay. The Bees came out the Sunday but scary though just glad it was after we had a blast there.Guest review bynatalieSouth Africa - 8.0

The reserve is not a big 5 animal park but has an amazing biodiversity of flora and birds. It has an inland lagoon, a large white dune field and a beautiful coastline where you can spot whales in the right season. It also has the only remaining Cape Vulture colony in the Western Cape. To access the park, you need to travel on long stretches of gravel road, so is a bit off the beaten track. You need to pay a conservation fee at the entrance (check Cape Nature for rates). It hosts the multiday slack-packing hike of the Whale Trail. However, it also has lovely day walks and bike rides, where you can get up quite close to the animals.Guest review byMeagan BromfieldUnited States - 8.0

It was beautiful but rugged and not everything is easily accessible. I would go there in a heart beat for a fishing trip, but I think there are better places to go to the beach for parents with small children.Guest review byLenSouth Africa - 10.0
The chalet was very clean and the bed very comfortable
The chalet was very clean and the bed very comfortable The table was beautifully set for us with serviettes and a protea on the table There was coffee available and load shedding was adequately catered for The beaches at Koppie Alleen were beautiful and there is a lovely walk along the lagoon. The dinner's food was amazing although I thought it was a bit expensiveGuest review byEstelleSouth Africa - 10.0
Witsand is a quiet town and the people friendly.
Witsand is a quiet town and the people friendly. The waiter at the restaurant in town was a bit sulky. Not very friendly. You sit down, you order, you eat, you pay, you go. But the food was perfect.Guest review byHermanSouth Africa
