Fantastic view of the plains below. Three very clean bathrooms. Interesting books in the common room. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Stóra-Vatnshorn is located 500 metres from the historic Eiríksstadir site and 17 km from Búdardalur village. Best facilities we have had all across our 9 bookings in Iceland. Washing machine, kitted out kitchen, all in the little house, just wow.

My wife and I arrived fairly late (8:30 pm), and we found that the bathroom was too difficult to access, given her mobility issues. I had reserved a room with shared bath, but had not considered that the toilet would require several stairs. The host sent us to a nearby hotel that had an easier toilet access, without any extra charge. We were very grateful for this. The facility looked very nice with a superb scenic view.
