Big TV set with huge couch to sit on. Outstanding breakfast. Extremely attentive and supportive staff. All services — at a top notch. Great choice for a few days relax from Tokyo hype.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. This place was amazing! You stepped into a quiet, calm sanctuary. Room was very comfortable. The staff was super kind and helpful! A small but very intimate onsen helps you relax. Bed was comfortable. And the traditional japanese breakfast was amazing! I would come back again! And hopefully I shall! ありがとうございます

Just a 2-minute walk from Takayama Station, Oyado Koto No Yume offers Japanese-style rooms with a colourful touch. Location was amazing- walking distance from the station and from the old town. The place was beautiful, and the rooms had everything. Futons were very comfy. The onsen was the best I tried so far (but I haven’t tried a lot). We did the private bath, and it was really nice. They also lend you yukatas to wear around the ryokan. And the staff were very friendly, hospitable and helpful!

Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. Amazing tatami room overlooking the river. Good individual fridge and toilet. Well equipped kitchen. Amazing common rooms. Really a great place to stay at a good price. Helpful and kind staff, really. Great location.

Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. Excellent: beautiful location, amazing staff, great service and excellent facilities. Definitely our best stay in Japan. No low prices, but certainly worth it!

横川温泉湯殿ととのゆ se găsește în Shimoda, la 33 km de Promontoriul Koibito Misaki, și are o grădină, un lounge comun și parcare privată gratuită. The location was perfect for getting away from the busy streets of Tokyo, though I highly recommend renting a (small!) car to get here, as it is tucked away from public trsnsportation routes. Our room was clean, surprisingly well equipped and comfortable. Service was spot on, communication with our host was easy and quick. We never saw any of the staff though, which made the quality of service just that much more impressive. We were the only guests staying here at the time, so we had all facilities to ourselves (an introvert's dream). There were plenty of instructions in english for all the general how-tos, check-in and check-out was easy using the machine. Prepare to face some bugs around the area, we had a few interesting encounters with moths by the entrance. The room itself was equipped with bugspray and deterrents, though we didn't need them as our room was perfectly wildlife free. The bug screen in the private onsen kept the bugs at bay, allowing us to bathe and sleep while enjoying the sounds and smells of the surrounding nature!

Hakuunsou se află în Takayama și oferă WiFi gratuit în întreaga proprietate, precum și vedere la munte. Excellent. The private onsens, the surroundings, the rooms and the location, everything was just perfect.

Iroriyado Hidaya se găsește în Takayama, la 18 minute de mers pe jos de Gara Takayama, și are o grădină, un lounge comun și parcare privată gratuită. This Ryokan is very authentic with all the original details. The owners are warm, friendly and thoughtful. I will definitely come back here with my whole family in the very near future. Ai shimashou!
