We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.

Το Hólar countryside cabin 1 είναι στο Σέλφος. Σε απόσταση 39 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Ljósafoss, το κατάλυμα διαθέτει βεράντα και δωρεάν ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. Το κατάλυμα έχει κουζίνα. The cabin was really great. Small, but it had everything we could ask for, and more. A lovely handwritten note from the owner and welcome sweets were waiting us! The area around the farm was beautiful, the kids walked around and saw the horses 😊 Everything was really clean and tidy.

Very quiet, located in the middle of the fields. A good location – easy to get to the attractions of the Golden Circle. We took advantage of the hot tub. Complimentary coffee and tea. A well equipped kitchen. All appliances are brand new.

Το Gljásteinn by Golden Circle έχει θέα στο βουνό και διαθέτει βεράντα και αυλή. Το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Geysir είναι περίπου 33 χλμ μακριά. EVERYTHING! We had 2 weeks in Iceland and travelled around the country. We stayed in 5 different locations, all special and unique. But Gljásteinn was a little corner of paradise. Róbert built his house with so much passion and love and respect for the nature around it, it is very impressive. He was there to guide us, to give us some good tips about where to eat, what to explore, and the whole experience was simply wonderful.

Extremely courteous hosts and the location is the best if you are looking for a quiet and tranquil spot in the Golden Circle. It is a huge house with multiple beds and it's a perfect place for a family trip.

Το EYVÍK Cottages - Private HOT TUB! διαθέτει καταλύματα με δωρεάν WiFi, εγκαταστάσεις μπάρμπεκιου, κήπο και δωρεάν ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. The view is amazing, if you like a quiet place in nature, this is it! I loved to sit on the couch and watch the landscapes. I was only sorry we did not book at least 2 nights

Το Mosas cottages προσφέρει καταλύματα με δωρεάν WiFi, εγκαταστάσεις μπάρμπεκιου, κήπο και δωρεάν ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. We loved simply everything! The host was always responsive before and after check-in and made sure we had everything upfront (information how to get there, how to open the door, how to use the hot tub etc.). The cottages are located outside the big cities and we were lucky to get a glimpse of the northern lights (even though not too bright because of clouds). We hadn`t had the time to use the hot tubs unfortunately, but they looks super clean and well-maintained. If I ever have the chance to come back to this area, I will definitely stay here! Thank you!
