We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.

The cabin was really great. Small, but it had everything we could ask for, and more. A lovely handwritten note from the owner and welcome sweets were waiting us! The area around the farm was beautiful, the kids walked around and saw the horses 😊 Everything was really clean and tidy.

The location is in the middle of nowhere, half an hour from Selfoss. We had some issues filling the hot tub but it was resolved. We bought groceries before checking in so it was perfect and we stayed for one night and enjoyed the cabin. Beds were comfortable and linens were cleaned. Highly recommended this place for short stay. Very powerful hair dryer

Exceptional. Facilities amazing. Bedrooms extremely comfortable Kitchen & Bathrooms very good Hot tub and Barbecue great additions to the house Helga was very helpful and welcoming. A brilliant overnight stay had by all.

The place is spacious and very clean, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Spent most spare time in the perfectly temperate hot tub soaking in the midnight sun and the peace this place has. Communication was very proactive and friendly, 10/10, would love to move in right away ;)
